peak district b&b - Holly Cottage

Holly Cottage B&B is a peak district b&b in the Estate village of Pilsley, one mile from Chatsworth House, at the heart of the Chatsworth Estate in the magnificent landscape of Derbyshire’s Peak District National Park.

Chatsworth is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and is one of Britain’s best loved historic houses and estates, that offer something for everyone to enjoy, from famous works of art, young animals and the spectacular fountains in the garden to the finest shopping, food and drink and many miles of free walks.

The house, garden, farmyard, adventure playground, gift shops and restaurant are open every day until a few days before Christmas.

The 1000 acre park and the famous farmshop and its restaurant are open all year round. From early November, the house is dramatically re-presented for the Christmas season.

In the garden large and previously secret area, called Quebec, revealing magnificent trees, a 300 year old water cascade and new paths made around a newly planted North American arboretum will be unveiled
Two new site specific sculptures, by Allen Jones and David Nash, will also be installed in the garden, the farmyard and adventure playground will open with the new Shire horse foal, and packed programme of events, activities and demonstrations throughout the year. The café and shop are being rejuvenated with a complete makeover, to offer the best food and gifts for family visitors.

The international Horse Trials are staged in May, and the Country Fair takes place on the the first weekend in September.

From early November, the house will once again be transformed for our Christmas season, with dramatic decorations and beautiful lights and music. More details will be announced shortly.

If you are looking for Motorcycle friendly hotels, the Olde Barn Hotel offers great biker accommodation including packages and rates for all motorcycling friends.

Ground Anchors
From the minute you park up and lock your precious bike to an Oxford ground anchor you know that we take motorcyclists seriously. You do need to provide your own security chain and lock. We have four ground anchors located opposite reception in the first four bays on the right hand side of our car park.

Bike Covers
To protect your pride and joy we can loan you one of our bike covers which need to be reserved when you make your booking.  Although we do not make a charge for this should the bike cover not be returned or is damaged when you check out a ?0 charge will be made to your room bill.

Our Biker Accommodation - Welcome Pack
If you book a motorcycling package via our web site or make it clear to us that you are coming on your motorcycle then you will receive a welcome pack. In the pack are suggested ride outs in to the Lincolnshire Wolds. The Lincolnshire Wolds are just a short ride away. Bike, Ride and MCN Publications do the majority of their road tests there. A must do is the Bardney road a personal favourite of Patrick our Managing Director.

Drying Room
For those of you that get caught out in the great British weather we can dry your bike gear in our secure drying room but please ensure garments are on coat hangers, which can be provided if you request them when your booking is made.

Chain Oil
We always have a can of non fling chain oil, Putoline Tech Chain lube and you can ask for this at reception but please make sure that you return it for our next needy motorcyclist.
